Artist Statement

“Photography is a tool for me to find and capture an emotion in the “external world.” It is my emotion, clearly embedded in the landscape outside my skin—I leave part of me there when I take a photo as I take some of the scene with me.

I want to live aware of the world like this. I want to feel the constant wind for days, then no wind all day; a full moon so bright I squint my eyes—I strive to be open to the world in such a way that it can flow through me.

These moments exist anywhere during my walks within parks in NYC, but each moment is only that: a moment. Like dreams, these scenes are entirely unique and will never repeat. Every time when I witness these moments I dream, re-enchanting the ordinary.

I hope the viewer can visit these moments and in-between places in their imaginations, while bringing their own thoughts and experiences to this shared process of sense perception.”
